Acceptance of Terms

  • Submission of an application constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
  • Entrants agreed to abide by all rules, decisions and requirements as set out by the organisers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Entrants must operate with a trading address within Spelthorne borough.
  • Start Up applicants must have been trading for a minimum of 12 months at the date of application.
  • Businesses entering the Best Small Business category must employ the equivalent of 10 full time employees or fewer.
  • Eligible businesses types include sole traders, private or public limited companies, business units within larger companies and not for profit organisations.
  • Businesses may enter one 'area' category plus another additional category.

Entry Process

  • All entries must be submitted online via the Spelthorne Business Awards website
  • Entries must be received by the deadline - 19 June 2026. Late entries will not be considered.
  • Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt via email. Entrant who do not receive confirmation within two working days should contact [email protected]

Judging and Selection

  • Judging will be conducted by award sponsors and partners appointed by Spelthorne Borough Council
  • The judges decisions are final
  • Sponsors are not permitted to enter the award category that they sponsor or judge.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw an application if an entrant is found to have provided false, misleading or incomplete information.

Finalists and Attendance Requirements

  • Finalists must ensure that a representative of their business is available to attend the Awards' ceremony on the evening of 2 October 2026.
  • All entrants will be advised if they are finalists by the end of July 2026.

Ticketing and Payments

  • Entry to the awards is free, however, tickets to the Awards ceremony and dinner are chargeable (£60 per person inc VAT).
  • No refunds will be available for tickets cancelled after 5pm on Thursday 24 September.

Confidentiality and Intellectual Property

  • Entry content will only be shared with Spelthorne Borough Council and the indiviudals judging the relevant category.
  • Entrants will be expected to protect those aspects of their business that may be patentable, registerable or otherwise secret and governed by intellectual property, copyright or similar legislation.

Publicity and Media

  • Entrants agree to co-operate with reasonable media requests and publicity activities relating to the awards
  • Finalist entries may be used in case studies, press releases and promotional materials.

Data Protection

  • The Spelthorne Business Awards are organised by Spelthorne Borough Council (SBC), which is the data controller. More details on how SBC approaches protecting your data can be found in our privacy notice.
  • Personal data submitted as part of the entry process will be processed for the purposes of administering, judging and promoting the Awards.
  • Entry data will be stored for a maximum of 2 years to allow evaluation of the scheme and communication about other SBC initiatives relevent to entrants
  • Entry details will be shared with relevant award sponsors for judging purposes only.
  • Entrants may withdraw their entry or request data deletion at any time by contacting Spelthorne Borough Council.
  • Data will be stored in the UK. Entrants have the right to contact the ICO should they have any concerns reamin after raising issues with Spelthorne Borough Council.
